Landscapes
On the outskirts of Jerusalem lies the suburb of Ein Karem. This was the place where John the Babtist was supposed to have been born. There is a spring of water that Chhristian Pilgrims associate with Mary. Many churches and monastries are to be found in the area and this painting contains just a few of them including the Moscovia Monastry built by the Russian Orthodox church.
